Expose Yourself To The Arts
Artsplosure was founded in 1979 to present high quality and accessible arts festivals and to identify, nurture, and showcase emerging artists and arts groups to a broad cross-section of people. The non-profit corporation currently presents First Night Raleigh and Artsplosure – The Raleigh Arts Festival.
First Night Raleigh is a New Year's Eve celebration of the arts and community featuring performances in venues throughout downtown Raleigh. The event features a daytime Children's Celebration, the People's Procession, music, dance, theatre, comedy, early & late countdowns, the giant Acorn Drop, and fireworks.
Artsplosure: The Raleigh Arts Festival, has been the premiere arts festival in central North Carolina for 28 years. The event, held the third weekend in May, includes over 170 visual artists showing and selling their work on the streets surrounding Moore Square Park. In the park, award-winning musicians perform live on a main stage throughout the weekend, and Kidsplosure offers crafts and performances for children.
Artsplosure festivals and programs consistently attract downtown Raleigh’s largest crowds. These family-friendly events in accessible locations draw 120,000 or more people to Raleigh’s central business district each year.
